House for a Lighting Designer

House for a Lighting Designer

Zushi, Kanagawa 1996
Total Area: 145m2, New Construction, Steel, 2-Story Residence

This new two-generation house was built near the seashore in Zushi for a lighting designer whose hobby is sailing. Going upwards in relation to the stairway of the skip-floor design, the room arrangement starts from the half-underground children's room up to the entrance level, then the grandmother's room, a multi-purpose room, the living/dining/kitchen spaces rooms, a study room, and the roof terrace.
Although this is actually a steel structure, the facade was created to produce a different expression, with the combination of exposed concrete on the lower story and siding on the upper story.
