This apartment complex is located in a quiet historical residential area
One of the two existing apartment buildings on the site was demolished and replaced with a new building, with one basement level and three stories above ground, providing collective housing for seven families.
The "conjoined structure" design system was utilized, allowing
more than two buildings to be constructed in one property and giving advantages
in terms of building height and capacity. Plantings were set on the stepped
terraces which were created to conform to the setback angle required by
Sufficient daylighting and natural ventilation were achieved by designing
a large areawell for the housing portion of the basement level, satisfying
the code conditions which do not allow dwelling units to be underground.
